Beautiful blue water, frothy waves break ashore,

superb hidden treasures above ocean floor,

fishermen at night seek succulent seafood,

dock daybreak, unload lavish variety, oh so good.

 

Walkers on sand reach Spit, boats enter at dawn,

bountiful delivery of fish and king-size prawn,

market abuts river, showcase, hard to match,

consumers delighted select from this catch.

 

Back on beach, scrumptious dinner alongside,

keen for barista’s coffee, near where they reside,

evening, fresh, cleaned, glistening, prawns served,

plus, hot crispy chips, a spoiling well deserved.

 

Ritual pursued for health, pleasure, over smooth sand,

dusk, on patio, enthralled magic view of strand,

memory captivated by spectacular splendours,

absorbing Mother Nature’s special wonders.
