SUNRISE - SUNSHINE

 

                                 SUNRISE – SUNSHINE

Sunrise, sparkling river, tranquil, trees hues of green,

eyes wide open, relax, behold majestic scene,

elements vivid, transformed by wind, sun, rain, cloud,

art fails to capture such beauty, essence, or sound.

 

Lush banks, anchored cruisers, yachts point into breeze,

sunbake, swim, walk, any angler’s catch would please,

dense scrub entwines gnarled trunks, foliage prolific,

glistening marine life, canoeists, paddlers, merrily frolic.

 

Ferry, water taxi, craft, muffled motors sauntered,

we reflect nature’s splendour, often taken for granted,

tantalizing tourists, enthralled by variable vistas,

flocks of birds, colours, fascinate fashionistas.

 

Black ‘n white Butcher bird on chair swiftly perched,

shiny talons, aquiline beak, tempted, eyes searched,

at breakfast, absorbed admirer, scenery great,

suddenly!

Uninvited guest snatches snack from hand of newfound mate.
