Top Hook, Bottom Hook
Top Hook, Bottom
Hook
Bayside, Brighton, retired old salt departs home,
encouraged
by his wife, content to relax alone,
in
putt-putt, searching, drifts Port Phillip Bay
wistfully,
dreams, for catch of the day.
Top,
bottom, hooks, persistent optimist,
tempts
snapper, flathead, whiting, succulent fish,
but which
will take bait, be first to fail,
“Strike me
lucky”, two whiting, complete tale!
