Bocci days of yore, on village green 

fellowship, gossip, oh to be seen.

 

Post 2^nd World War forces celebrated, cheers with beers,

Melbourne in 50’s new social aspect appears,

Italian Aussies, Pellegrini, Toto’s, day ‘n night

coffee, black, short, long, plus frothy white.

 

Today, groups, pairs, single, mingle relax outdoors,

baristas tweak their pride, skilful resolute pours,

designer beans, caffeine creative essence

aroma infusing, an art form excellence.

  

Espresso, cappuccino, latte, single, double shot

milk, soy, almond, coconut, challenge maestro’s lot.

 

Pleasures shared, crystallize thru many hours,

as in life pods bloom, colourful perfumed flowers.
