ODE to UDE

 

                                  ODE to UDE

Governments exert excessive fortitude,

thus, isolation affects one’s aptitude,

populous suffer, east to west latitude,

encompassing, north to south longitude.

Lockdown's dramatic depth of lassitude

exacerbates depression, due to solitude,

anti-vaxxers, portray a selfish attitude,

overwhelm hospitals, deemed their certitude.

 

Health workers deserve our gratitude,

not an ironic murmur of platitude,

singles, families, inflicted, must seclude,

respect society, consequently, elude.

 

Covid-19, Delta, Omicron, a daily interlude,

yet lockdowns, over life’s journey must conclude.

 

Should I intrude, even exclude, a dude,

who may obtrude rude, crude, words of a nude,

subdued in magnitude, but does it delude?
