IDYLLIC SHORES
IDYLLIC
SHORES

Post
dawn sun filters thru scattered cloud,
camels mute, asymmetrical humps proud,
vista
nor-east blurred, morning mist,
pristine waters lure, too enticing to resist.
Time
courts no favours, rich, poor, health, life,
perhaps another sombre dream typically rife,
vapour camouflage
dissipates, one ponders where?
Camels just lush mountains, burst into the air.
Dusk
turns black, eerie, only lapping of sea,
surely this wall of fire on water, cannot be,
beasts,
flaming red eyes, girdle horizon at night,
dawn breaks, a fishing fleet, barely in sight.
Old
man queries, why desecrate nature east at three,
who controls our universe, governments or thee,
garish
white structures, signage, epitomizes greed,
let us protect mother earth for our future seed.
Imagine,
lacking courage like a sloth encased in bed,
never
to discover what majestic beauty lay ahead.
