POSSESSION
POSSESSION
Dawn,
sun filters thru, content, cosy in bed
robin redbreast perched on windowsill,
chirped,
relaxed, good spirits, assume
all stays same,
perhaps a dream, or innermost
personal aim.
No one happier this moment in
life
daily toil, torn apart, stress,
strife,
grains of sand the hourglass of
time
measured feat ensures, she must
be mine.
Priceless gilded cage not
a thing to spare,
appeared above, majestic, afloat
in the air,
lovingly I snared robin,
believing it would be safe,
fulfilling my pleasure, became stronger than
faith.
Sun filtered thru, minutes,
hours, days became one,
constant cursing, turning, tossing,
what had he done,
tear drops develop, create mist,
shadows of death,
my beautiful robin gasps
farewell, her final breath.
