VITAMIN D or VANITY

 

                  Vitamin D or Vanity

 

Horizon, bright blue skies, dark green seas,

golden sands attract all ages, in light breeze,

surf rolls, roars, pounds, dependent on weather

offshore, breaking waves, attacked by lonely surfer.

 

Sunbaking, shade miniscule, clear sky

rays scorch foolhardy, assured to fry,

self-satisfaction, or one’s social domain,

cancer dangerous, treated with disdain.

 

Constant concerns created, friends, family

spray “slip slop” as shield from mankind's enemy,

how do we stimulate basic common-sense

when glamour egos, pursue a suntanned success.
